Simplicity in Action

Welcome to sbcRobotics

sbcRobotics is a STARTUP and is offering a narrow range of programmable autonomous robotics and learning kits. Currently sbcRobotics is offering a line of specialized autonomous robots for educators, students, and the serious professional. These are not production robots that will work in a production or assembly lines, with high precision. For any questions about the robots, please visit the "contact us" page. The name sbcRobotics is one word, all lowercase, except for the letter R. The first three letters, "sbc", stand for "Single Board Computer". To learn more about SBCs visit, http://www.linuxdevices.com/. At sbcRobotics, the words "Robot" and "Autonomous" are synonymous. Remote controlled machines are not robots. Just as puppets are not robots. Therefore the word "robot", and "autonomous robot" are the same.

The site is still under construction and will be updating it often. At least once per week as the projects are advanced.

The Mission:
To leverage the power of the Internet; to learn, teach and further the Art and Science of Autonomous Robotics. By providing "learning robot kits" to the interested and the serious robotics professional.

THE PRODUCTS:

  • The IQ100, the re-startup product. For the beginner, intermediate and advanced student. Worth $300 but priced at less than $150. A smart robot with an IQ of 100. It is offered as a "learning robotics kit", assembled with application software, manual, and accessories.

  • The torsoHead, the main product. A product for the serious determined robotics professional. A one-to-one mechanical replica of the human torso. From the waist up. The torsoHead is not designed to do production work. It cannot place parts in place, over and over with high precision. It's designed to perform like a human.

  • The ServoMan, a fun product for the determined robot aficionado. Offering a challenge to program and make it walk.

  • GorakOne, the intended working product. Still under development. A real working robot for assisting in the Geriatric wards and assisted living retirement homes.

  • GorakTwo, the future project. Already built, but not yet working. A walking humanoid robot 5'5" tall. The next step to GorakThree. A metallic humanoid robot with a flexible spine.
